Throughout his career, Prof Phil has worked with governments and industry, undertaking developments with among others Shell, BP, EDF, Hutchinson Ports, Petrobras, the United States Departments of Energy and Defence, and various UK government departments. Phil’s current research interests focus in on the nexus of energy and net zero technology, marine energy engineering, services and business/society in Request for Quotation2120: Business Resilience Page 12 of 16 the energy transition, and in the wide-ranging technologies and approaches to drive the zero-carbon transition at a local through to global level. Phil will act as a carbon expert playing an active role in workshop delivery as well as being responsible for the design and delivery of the materials and templates utilised.
Associate Professor Lee has more than 25 years’ experience in environmental research, teaching and consulting in North America, and Asia-Pacific countries. His experience encompasses consulting at one of the top environmental consulting firms in the USA, R&D at the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*Star, Singapore), and academic teaching and research at the University. He is the Program Convenor for the Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (BEnvOHS) program. His research areas include environmental sustainability, environmental waste management, environmental health, and biotechnology solutions to industrial waste treatment.
Martin is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Investor and Non-Executive Director for several companies. He has a wide-ranging skillset, being both a chartered accountant and barrister-at-law, with significant experience developing high growth businesses. He has co-founded, grown and advised business of all types across a range of sectors from start-up through to successful exit. At Cranfield Martin works within the Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship specialising entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance for post graduate students, and is the academic lead for a wide number of executive growth courses including the Ready for Net Zero Growth programme which has to date seen over 130 companies develop a growth plan built around a sustainable net zero goal.
